The new 10x18 size is less than 18 pounds, which is up to ten pounds lighter than comparable race wheels.

Double tested. Independent testing of the Gibson Wheel's cornering strength and fatigue properties indicates that the wheel is extremely strong. The same road race wheel was subjected to the highly-destructive SAE J328 test not once, but twice. Many wheels fail this test, but the Gibson Wheel survived both sequential tests without any loss of structural integrity.
