Party Bands on Thanksgiving Weekend Rock the Holidays to a Great Start
Dover, DE, November 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Three regional party bands are scheduled to appear on Thanksgiving weekend in Fire & Ice at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino beginning with regionally well-known Chorduroy on Wednesday, November 25. On Black Friday, November 27, Steamroller Picnic will perform and on Saturday, November 28 The Brian Bortnick Band makes a return appearance. All bands begin at 9 p.m. and there will be a $10 cover charged at the door.
Chorduroy is fronted by Derek Hubbard and performs an extensive mix of covers at well known haunts around Delaware and various locations in the Northeast. Chorduroy’s musical repertoire runs the gamut in genres including The Cure, Dave Mathews Band, Elvis Presley, Lenny Kravitz, Justin Timberlake, Pearl Jam, Sublime, Tom Petty and U2. This diversity has landed the band many private parties, and they have become favorites at college events and nightclubs in Delaware and Pennsylvania.
Steamroller Picnic is a premier cover band in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, and has been playing clubs from New York to Delaware for 15 years. They have racked up more than 2000 performances, placing them among the top 3% of successful bands nationwide. Their repertoire of nearly 100 varied tunes includes Incubus, The Ramones, Johnny Cash, Metallica, The Doors, Seether, Fallout Boy, Velvet Revolver, Sublime, Blind Melon and Fuel.
Philadelphia singer/songwriter Brian Bortnick fronts The Brian Bortnick Band with a voice which has been acclaimed and compared favorably to Darius Rucker and Muddy Waters, and is said to be a rock version of Jack Johnson. The Brian Bortnick Band plays regularly in Atlantic City at the Borgata’s Gypsy Bar, Tom & Jerry’s, Fieldhouse Sports Bar in Philly and many others in the region.
