Advance International Helps Power Bulgarian Shipbuilding
Global project cargo forwarder Advance International Transport Inc has commenced a three-year contract to provide heavy lift transport management services for Japanese-built ship engines destined for a multi bulk-carrier order being undertaken at a leading Bulgarian shipyard.
Istanbul, Turkey, November 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry EAD is the largest shipbuilding enterprise in Bulgaria and the company designs and constructs ships up to 100,000 dwt.
The 235-tonne engines are being built by Tokyo-based IHI Corporation and sold by Mitsubishi Corporation to Bulyard Shipbuilding Industry at the port of Varna. Advance International’s Japanese agent Goto Kaisoten handled arrangements in Japan. The 58,000 dwt ships are due to be finished in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
The first two engines were carried from Japan onboard heavy lift vessel, BBC German and discharged at the private Bulyard berth in the port of Varna. A third engine is due for delivery in December.
Jawad Kamel, President and CEO of Advance International Transport says: “Compared to many of our global project forwarding operations, the shipment of engines to a shipyard might not seem very large or difficult to undertake. However, it has long been my pride that every customer who entrusts their cargoes to Advance International can rely on the fact that we treat all our consignments as if they are the most important to us; in fact, they are!"
