South Street Players to Hold Auditions for "Harvey"
The South Street Players, Freehold New Jersey's oldest theater company will hold auditions for its upcoming presentation of "Harvey" by Mary Chase. The auditions will be held Sunday December 13th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in Spring Lake, NJ.
Freehold, NJ, December 03, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The South Street Players, Freehold New Jersey's oldest theater company will hold auditions for its upcoming presentation of "Harvey" by Mary Chase. The auditions will be held Sunday December 13th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Wesley Hall at St Andrew's Church in Spring Lake, New Jersey.
When Elwood P. Dowd starts to introduce his imaginary friend Harvey, a six and a half foot rabbit, to guests at a society party, his sister, Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate.
She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her daughter, Myrtle Mae, and the family from future embarrassment. Problems arise, however, when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy when she explains to doctors that years of living with Elwood's hallucination have caused her to see Harvey also. The doctors commit Veta instead of Elwood, but when the truth comes out, the search is on for Elwood and his invisible companion.
The South Street presentation is being directed by Travis Hoxie and will be performed Feburary 19th, 20th, 26th, 27th, 28th, March 5th and 6th of 2010. Performances will be at Wesley Hall at St. Andrews Church, Spring Lake, NJ.
Auditions will be held Sunday December 13th, 2009 also at Wesley Hall (Corner of 4th and Mercer) between 1:00pm and 4:00pm or by appointment.
