Woburn, MA, December 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Union Etchants Inc. (UEI), a leader in “greener alternative” iodine-based gold etching solutions and gold recovery products used in the manufacturing of semiconductor, RF, microelectronics, wireless and medical devices, has announced that it has been awarded Patent US 2007/0217976 A1, “Recovery of Gold from Potassium Iodide-Iodine Etching Solution.”

Semiconductor, RF, microelectronics, wireless, and implantable medical device manufacturers currently use UEI’s AU1 Gold Conductor Etchant, which is cyanide-free and retains more gold in solution.

The newly patented GOLDOUT™ product recovers (as a precipitate) >99% gold from spent etchant right at the manufacturing site for controlled assaying.
