Lennar Hosts Holiday Gift Drive for Children in Need
Lennar is promoting the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program to help kids who are less fortunate.
Charleston, SC, December 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Hundreds of children throughout Coastal Carolina may not experience the joy of opening presents on Christmas. And that is why Lennar, one of the nation’s leading homebuilders, is helping to promote the Salvation Army’s Angel Giving Tree program at their Welcome Home Centers at Foxbank Plantation in Moncks Corner and Wentworth Hall in Summerville.
The Angel Giving Tree program, run by the Salvation Army, relies on the kindness and generosity of the community at large to provide toys, clothes and school supplies to children under the age of 12.
“The Angel Giving Tree is a wonderful initiative,” said Shannon Williams, Director of Strategic Marketing for Lennar’s Coastal Carolina Division. “We at Lennar want to help in any way we can, as well as offer an opportunity for others to contribute to this worthwhile cause.”
According to Williams, The Salvation Army identifies “Angels” as children who are in need. Angels then create a paper ornament with the gift that they would like to receive for Christmas. People are invited to adopt an Angel by selecting the Angel’s ornament and purchasing their desired gift.
“All ornaments from our Angels will hang on a Christmas tree in our Welcome Home Center at Foxbank Plantation in Moncks Corner and Wentworth Hall in Summerville,” Williams said. “ I encourage everyone to adopt an Angel and make their gift wish come true for the holiday.”
All gifts must be returned to Lennar’s participating Welcome Home Centers at Foxbank Plantation or Wentworth Hall by December 10th for collection by the Salvation Army.
