Insights with Host Hugh Downs Interviews with Greg Norman
Greg Norman was interviewed as part of a program on environmental concerns in the building of golf courses and will appear as Part of the Public Television Series.
Boca Raton, FL, December 05, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Insights field producers spoke with Greg Norman who commented on the issues surrounding environmental concerns while building golf courses as part of a series of short-form segments for Public Television.
Sustainability issues and eco-friendly issues are always concerns when building or renovating wetlands. Greg Norman said, “Well, when you bring the environment back into it, you bring birds back in, you bring alligators back in, you bring the native feel back onto the golf course right down to the edge of the fairways so basically you’re just making the fairways meander through what was originally the natural environment and that’s what it’s all about. People like to walk through the natural feel as much as they possibly can. Golf is a great walk in Mother Nature.”
The executive producer stated, “Raising awareness is what we need in educating the consumer on green issues. Raising awareness is also what the Insights program is about. We look to have influential figures speaking about important topics in order to raise the level of education the country has on a given topic. In this case, the story could not be more important concerning sustainability and the implementation of how big or small our carbon footprint has become in our surroundings. Golf may be a national pastime for millions, but there are a myriad of concerns that follow what it means to be environmentally conscious when building a course.”
Insights is featuring a number of eco-important stories that will be educating on the work that sustainability-conscious efforts are making throughout the nation.
