Strive Named Small Business of the Year 2009 by GGCC

Gaithersburg, MD, December 09, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Strive Business Solutions was named Small Business of the Year 2009 by the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC). The award was presented to Colette Releford, President of Strive as the GGCC celebrated their 60th Anniversary on Thursday, December 3rd at their Annual Celebration Dinner & Gala.

The Small Business of the Year Award recognizes small businesses, which are a vital part of our economy and community. The award will be presented to the small business that demonstrates success, community involvement, and excellent customer relations.

Strive Business Solutions was started in October 2008. Since then Strive has focused on developing their brand as a company focused on providing efficiency and growth related solutions to small businesses. Strive has developed a strong online presence for the company (www.strivebusinesssolutions.com ) by utilizing social media and Webinars. Recently the company expanded its offering to provide a greater focus on business writing. This is besides the original core areas of process documentation, risk management products and professional services consulting.

Colette as President of Strive is involved in several organizations within the community both personally and professionally. She is a member of the Potomac Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Women’s Fraternity where she does volunteer work related to juvenile diabetes. She is a board member of the Association of Professional Business Writers and a member of the National Black MBA Assoc. DC Chapter, Institute of Facility Managers, Network Referral Group and UMUC Alumni Organization. Through the GGCC she is an active member serving on the Events, Gala and Golf committees. She was also the recipient of the 2009 GGCC Exceptional Volunteer Award. And as of Dec 1st, Colette is a welcomed addition to the GGCC Board of Directors.
