Quantros™ Unveils Clinical Cafe, Social Networking Website for Healthcare Professionals Focused on Safety, Quality and Compliance
New Online Community Launches at IHI's National Forum on Quality Improvement in Healthcare.
Boston, MA, December 10, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Quantros, a leading software and services provider for the healthcare industry, today announced the launch of Clinical Cafe, an online networking community for healthcare professionals working in patient safety, quality of care and regulatory compliance. Designed to bring together healthcare professionals from around the world, Clinical Cafe (www.clinicalcafe.com) is a free, membership-based and interactive site.
Quantros introduced the online community today in Orlando, FL, at the 21st National Forum on Quality Improvement in Healthcare hosted by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.
"Healthcare professionals are at the front lines of the patient safety movement," notes Dr. Sanjaya Kumar MD, MPH, President and Chief Medical Officer of Quantros. "We wanted to create an easy-to-use community to share ideas, best practices, success stories - whatever's relevant - so that regardless of their location they can work together to make healthcare safer."
Kumar attributes Quantros customers with sparking the idea for Clinical Cafe. "We have a vast user community, one that's very active," Kumar says, "and the constant feedback we've gotten is that they wanted a professional online collaborative venue where they could exchange information and opinions and best practices. This is a place where they can connect, share and learn."
The site's homepage includes information boxes for news and upcoming events, all hyperlinked. There is streaming video and "The Daily Brew," a chart highlighting a statistic of interest that changes weekly. Users do not need to be registered with the site to access these features, but registered users get access to more content and can more fully engage with their peers.
Once members log in, they can search for colleagues by any combination of medical specialty, interest areas, location, and name. Clinical Cafe also searches the database and suggests colleagues who share specific interests. The online community also offers Knowledge Share, a library of newsletters, books for purchase, whitepapers and webcasts. Additionally, Knowledge Share allows users to upload content that becomes viewable by all users. The site further facilitates discussion among members through forums and instant messaging capability.
Clinical Cafe does have a lighter side - members can test their clinical knowledge via interactive games in the B2 Training Zone and Brain Gym. Elite players earn leaderboard status. Games include "Safety Semester" and "Swine Flu Mania."
"Clinical Cafe is specifically designed for collaboration and networking by professionals engaged in driving best practices in safety, quality and compliance in healthcare organizations," says John Novack, Director of Marketing Communications and Strategy for Quantros. "The website's interactive features and tools all support this community."
