Arroyo Grande, CA, December 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Moon Valley Software pairs its business knowhow with social networking newcomer LocalHabit. Moon Valley will provide development services, consulting, and support for LocalHabit, creating a “local networking” community through transformative heuristics, matching users based on their locations and their local business interests—dubbed “Habitats” and “Habits,” respectively. Users will have a profile page as a base of operations for getting their business interests out there and getting a feel for what other local establishments similar users enjoy. Businesses, too, will be able to join the conversation, enticing their loyal consumers through promotions and reaching out to new consumers with interests similar to their established base.

The program will first be available in select cities in early 2010. LocalHabit’s goal is to connect people with similar Habits, who can then share advice and recommendations on other businesses in the community. The program will forge these connections through its unique HabitFormer™ algorithm, which employs a combination of user submissions and machine learning to formulate a preference matrix as a basis of relating users to each other. Consumers will be able to publicize local events to one another, such as local yard sales, by means of simple tools. Businesses will also be able to take advantage of the preference matrix and offer targeted, relevant advertising through the HabitAds platform. In this sense, the local networking community builds its own value: As people with similar Habits become increasingly interwoven, advertisers will reach more consumers with the same amount of effort.

LocalHabit will integrate with existing social networking communities to build its own user base, bringing the advantages of their connectivity to the local level. Access to Facebook, Twitter, an RSS feed, and an iPhone app in the first phase of development will then expand to Android, Blackberry and other WAP phones. Additionally, LocalHabit.com will have a Spanish counterpart at HabitoLocal.com.
