Sydney, Australia, December 11, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Angelo Tsirbas, formerly of Vision Group is now practicing in Bondi Junction at About Face, The Institute of Facial Plastic, Nasal & Cosmetic Surgery near Sydney, Australia.
Dr. Angelo Tsirbas is an Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon with emphasis in functional and aesthetic Oculoplastics. He has had extensive experience in periocular skin cancer reconstruction, ptosis, ectropion, entropion and is a world leader in endoscopic surgery for epiphora. He also offers extensive experience in blepharoplasty surgery and endoscopic surgery of the brow and face.
Previously he was Assistant Professor in the department Orbital and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at the Jules Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, California. His training is in both general surgery and oculoplastics. Before moving to take the position at UCLA he worked in New York, London, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Dr. Angelo Tsirbas is involved in several current research projects. These entail both basic science and clinical applications of various emerging technologies.
Some of these include the following: Robotic eye surgery, applications for endoscopic endonasal dacryocystorhinostomy; treatment of Thyroid eye disease with Rituxan and Anakinra and other novel antibody fragment interventions; genetic markers for ocular and periocular tumors and dermal fillers; roles in periorbital reconstruction and facial rejuvenation and new surgical approaches to facial rejuvenation.
