Reinhardt College Expands Reach with New Online Programs
Reinhardt College explores the realm of online learning by offering its first ever programs with online options – an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Science in Fire Management. Both programs are scheduled to launch in January 2010.
Waleska, GA, March 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Demand for law enforcement officers and fire fighters is expected to rise 11 percent before 2016. For more than 125 years, Reinhardt College has focused on meeting education needs within the community. Reinhardt has recognized the need for these occupations and has met the demand by creating two new programs with online options: an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Science in Fire Management. These degrees will help prepare future leaders in jobs that will allow them to give back to the community.
In Nov. 2007, Reinhardt partnered with The Learning House, Inc. (TLH), a comprehensive online education solutions partner located in Louisville, KY, to develop online courses. Together, Reinhardt and TLH have been working to create a complete online campus environment, with features such as customized course content, 24/7 technical support and other various academic resources. This partnership has allowed Reinhardt to successfully launch high-value online courses without sacrificing its on-campus resources.
Beginning in Jan. 2010, Reinhardt will offer an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Science in Fire Management with online options. Reinhardt currently offers liberal arts general education courses online that are designed to help students complete general education requirements, as well as requirements of specific programs and majors.
The criminal justice program is structured to offer introductory career training for those interested in law enforcement; the legal system; local, state and federal government; and homeland security. It also has opportunities for security management in the private and public sector, postal service and non-profit arenas. The fire management program will prepare students to excel and advance in the field of firefighting. It will also offer opportunities for advancement to leadership and management positions. The required and elective courses in the fire management program are derived from the model curriculum adopted by the Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) network.
For those seeking to finish a degree or advance professionally, Reinhardt’s degree programs have been designed with busy adults in mind. Offering eight-week terms, Reinhardt gives adults the opportunity to enroll as full-time or part-time students.
