Elizabeth M. Mason Presents Fukuko Ando
A Prominent Fashion Expert to Debut Fashions of Acclaimed Japanese Couture Designer, Fukuko Ando, at her Exclusive Beverly Hills Boutique
Beverly Hills, CA, October 12, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Elizabeth M. Mason, a renowned fashion expert and owner of the exclusive boutique The Paper Bag Princess, is pleased to introduce acclaimed Japanese fashion designer Fukuko Ando to the North American markets on Friday, October 13th at her premiere location in Beverly Hills.
Born in Japan, Ms. Ando moved to Paris after graduating from Nagoya School of Fashion in Japan, completing her post-graduate studies at The Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne.
Ms. Ando has had the privilege of collaborating with such renowned fashion brands as The House of Dior, as well as most recently Christian Lacroix. Her work is deeply inspired by the early work of Madeleine Vionnet, as well as classical Greek sculpture, and these influences are subtly evident in the fluid drape and sinuous forms in Ando’s work today.
Using a wooden mannequin and guided by the reverse reflection in a mirror Ando finds the body’s shape and listens to the material as she manipulates the fabric to create an organic and harmonious form following that of human tissues, every stitch placed by her discerning artist’s eye as it translates through her fingertips into delicate hand stitches.
Ms. Mason’s discovery of Ando was a chance meeting in Paris 2005 where the two creative spirits united in the vision of bringing Ando’s lovely, ethereal draped collection of gowns and cocktail creations worthy of a gracing the most elite of Red Carpets to Mason’s clients at The Paper Bag Princess, Beverly Hills.
Ando’s designs will be on display and available for Press through October 21, 2006 exclusively at The Paper Bag Princess, 8818 West Olympic Blvd. Beverly Hills.
