Trendsetters had to face an occasional defeat from "Brothers 11", a strong cricket team with loads of talent like "Trendsetters." The match was played on RA Puram ground in Chennai on Dec 12 2009. Trendsetters won the toss and elected to bat first. Opening batsman Thilak gave a good start to "Trendsetters" with his classy shots. Square drive and square cuts are few of the best shots played in the innings of Thilak. Utilizing the excellent start, Trendsetters went ahead to score 79 runs in 12 overs. Bala's cameo innings propelled the team to reach the score of 79 runs.
"Trendsetters" thought that the score of 79 was too good to win the match. The efforts of the "Trendsetters" bowlers were futile to stop the might hitters of "Brothers 11." Bowler KamalChandran who usually bowls a decent line and length and concedes only fewer runs in his overs was slammed to all parts of the ground this time. Brothers 11 become victorious with more than 2 overs to spare.
On the same day after the match with "Brothers 11," "Trendsetters" had scheduled another match with "TCS 11." Yet again Trendsetters won the toss and elected to bat. Match began, openers entered the batting field. With the little vengeance carried from the previous match, KamalChandran who usually waits for his captain's call to enter the batting field, called on his captain to let him go the next down. To some persons, a pinch is required to perform and Kamal Chandran belongs to that category. It seemed that he wanted to uphold his integrity and started playing some excellent shots by keeping a cool head. It was a ten over match, as usual Bala came to crease and started unleashing his mighty sixes. Trendsetters set a target of 56 runs before TCS 11 to win the match.
Bowlers of Trendsetters did show their bowling talent this time. Bapu, Thanga, Bala, Thilak & KamalChandran waved the victory flag for " Trendsetters team."
