Language Company Offers Interpreter for Dundee United's New Slovakian Goalie Dusan Pernis

London, United Kingdom, December 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Berkshire-based language services company Prestige Network has stepped in to offer the services of its interpreters to Dundee United for its new Slovakian goalie Dusan Pernis’ media interviews.

Dusan started training with Dundee United this week after moving from his parent club MSK Zilina. He is expected to make his debut on 9 January 2010 in the Scottish Cup against Partick Thistle.

BBC Scotland’s Jim Spence conducted an interview with Dusan (Thursday 10 December), which is now posted on the BBC sports website with the heading: ‘a reporter should know when to give up’. Dusan admitted during the interview that his English is not very good.

After seeing the interview online, Shawn Khorassani (Business Development and Strategy Director of language services company Prestige Network) contacted the club, offering the services of a Slovakian interpreter.

Shawn said: “I’m a keen football supporter and felt uncomfortable watching the interview. Dusan deserves a medal for being brave enough to go in front of the cameras without an interpreter and the BBC Scotland reporter Jim Spence deserves a medal for persistence.

“We would love to help out – our interpreters could certainly help Dusan and Dundee United get their messages across effectively. The whole interview would have been smoother and more productive if an interpreter had been involved.

“The club jokingly replied that there was an urgent need, but it was for the Scottish reporter! We are on stand-by for anyone at the club who wants us.”
