New MMA Website Dedicated to Houston Area MMA Scene
TheCageDoor.net is dedicated to providing Houston with local MMA coverage. Upstart website, TheCageDoor.net is making its mark on the Houston MMA scene. Since its launch in October, the site has been well received, and it is filling a void in the coverage of MMA in the Houston metro area. “Our goal isn’t to just cover the local scene,” site co-founder Barry Laminack said, “it’s to galvanize the scene in hopes of getting it more of the national attention it deserves.”
Houston, TX, December 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Upstart website, TheCageDoor.net is making its mark on the Houston MMA scene. Since its launch in October, the site has been well received, and it is filling a void in the coverage of MMA in the Houston metro area. “Our goal isn’t to just cover the local scene”, site co-founder Barry Laminack said, “it’s to galvanize the scene in hopes of getting it more of the national attention it deserves.”
The site’s launch has been met with tremendous support and fanfare, and it eclipsed the first months projected visits by over 4100 visitors. “We recognized that there wasn’t anybody covering the local market, and we knew that if we did it, and did it right, that the visitors would come” said Richard Burmaster, co-owner.
The site, located on the web at http://www.thecagedoor.net, provides a mix of interviews, pre and post event coverage, live event updates, fighter blogs, a Houston focused forum and plans to create the most comprehensive MMA gym and professional fighter database in the city. Barry Laminack had this to say about the coverage of the local fighters, “We recognize that many of the MMA fans in Houston don’t really know much about the local fighters, that’s why we are so excited about the site. Our site gives them a chance to read interviews and stories about the fighters they will be watching at the local events. It should help them make a connection with the fighters, and give them something else to root for besides hoping some random guy they have never heard of gets knocked out or submitted”.
Another long awaited (and much needed) resource for Houston area MMA fans is a comprehensive event calendar of MMA events (including time and location) in the Houston area. “As a fan, it can be frustrating when you can’t find a reliable source that has information about the MMA related events in the city”, said Richard Burmaster when speaking about the calendar. He added, “Our goal is to be that resource, and we are working closely with the local promoters and event organizers to keep our calendar as populated and up to date as possible”. The site also has a form that an event promoter can submit to have their event added to the calendar.
