Atrion Networking Corporation Selects Ruckus Wireless for “Reliable as Wire” Enterprise Wi-Fi Service
Partnership will offer simplified, affordable wireless networking solutions with industry-leading technology and control.
Warwick, RI, December 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Atrion Networking Corporation, a leading provider of Information Technology and Managed Services, and Ruckus Wireless, the industry’s fastest growing wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions provider, today announce their partnership to deliver state-of-the-art Wi-Fi signal routing and interference avoidance technology.
The collaboration will enhance Atrion’s solution offerings, providing its clients with Ruckus’ cutting-edge Wi-Fi solutions, including its ZoneFlex enterprise networking products and its MediaFlex routers and adapters for wireless high-definition IPTV. Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi products extend signal range and adapt to changes in the environment using a patented beamforming technique that automatically selects the best performing signal path in real time. Atrion will also set up and help customers manage their Wi-Fi networks with additional products including, Smart/OS, ZoneDirector controllers and FlexMaster management software for increased control and security as well as faster deployment and comprehensive statistics and reporting.
Atrion and Ruckus are targeting opportunities across several vertical markets including hospitality, healthcare and education, among others. Atrion will be installing a long-range 802.11n Wi-Fi backhaul solution next month at the RINET/Woonsocket, RI School Dept., using the Ruckus 7731 outdoor point-to-point bridge.
“Atrion is proud to be partnering with Ruckus Wireless, one of the most innovative technology companies in our industry today,” said Chris Poe, chief technology officer with Atrion. “Through our partnership, Atrion will be able to offer our clients a diverse array of affordable, peak-performance Wi-Fi solutions to meet their needs in a growing wireless and mobile market place.”
“Wi-Fi has had a reputation as being unreliable with spotty coverage. And yet, people try to use it for applications for which it was never intended. It’s fine for bursty traffic like email or sending a file, but you can’t have constantly dropping packets for a voice or video Wi-Fi connection,” said John Sampson, director of global channel programs at Ruckus Wireless. “Now, with the ratification of the 802.11n standard, there is an expectation that all is well. While the standard does help improve the performance of Wi-Fi, it does not eliminate the issues of range and reliability, simply closing a door can disrupt a common Wi-Fi signal. Our products help give assurance that the performance customer are promised is delivered and that the user experience is dramatically better than it has been historically. Atrion understands the importance of making Wi-Fi as reliable as wire for its customers and working together gives us a great opportunity to grow our businesses throughout the Northeast.”
Additionally, the companies recently partnered in their first collaborative event with CWNP (Certified Wireless Network Professionals) for the Boston, MA installment of the national Pimp My Wi-Fi educational roadshow.
