Research Shows Findings for Most Wanted Depression Era Glass Pieces on eBay
Orem, UT, December 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- HammerTap, the industry leader in eBay market research, announces today its findings for Depression era glass pieces on eBay this December. Among the items of highest interest to eBay collectors included dinner plates, salt and pepper shakers, and specific brand names, such as Akro and McKee.
Depression glass sells around 35% of the time, with an average selling price of $22 per piece on eBay. HammerTap experts took a closer look and found that salt and pepper shakers from the Depression era sold 54% of the time for an average price of $28. Hazel, green, and pink shakers sold between 70% and 77% of the time—roughly three of every four shaker listings with those colors sold.
"Interestingly, shaker set listings with the word Depression in them didn’t do as well as the other listings,” commented Jen Cano, HammerTap expert. “This may be because the listings are already in the Depression Glass category and the word Depression takes up valuable title word real estate that could be used for other words collectors are using to search on.”
The highest selling shaker set in the last 30 days was a pair of pink cameo shakers. The set went for $350. However, across the board, blue shakers sold for the highest overall selling price on eBay at $50 per set.
In a broader scope, Depression glass pieces with a cherry blossom pattern sold 55% of the time with an average selling price of $25. Miss America pieces from the Depression sold for an average price of $42 with a success rate of 41%. And, Akro pieces sold 51% of time at around $31, on average.
