Avista Solutions Names Jerry White Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer
25-year financial professional joins leading loan origination software (LOS) provider after serving as Metavante executive
Columbia, SC, December 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Avista Solutions, a leading provider of innovative loan origination software (LOS) solutions for the mortgage industry, announced the hiring of Jerry White to the dual positions of chief operating officer and chief financial officer. In his new roles, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and the financial management of the company. White brings over 25 years of financial experience to Avista, most of which have been spent with technology-focused firms.
He has an even longer history with Avista Solutions CEO and co-founder Mark Phlieger, whom he met during high school in Cocoa, Florida, in the heart of the Sunshine State’s Space Coast. Being raised during the height of the space race, it is no surprise that both of them ended up working in the technology arena, though White’s journey to the mortgage industry included many years in aerospace, while Phlieger focused early on mortgage technology. “I was working on getting Desktop Underwriter up and running for Fannie Mae,” says Phlieger, “and Jerry was working for companies that built rockets and software for the Defense Department. Even though we arrived at Avista from different directions, I couldn’t be more pleased to be working with him after all these years. Financial professionals with Jerry’s credentials don’t come along every day, and we are extremely fortunate to have him on the Avista team.”
White joins Avista Solutions after five years with Metavante Banking Solutions, in Orlando, Florida, where he was CFO for Bankway, one of the company’s core products. Prior, he spent five years with Mitsubishi Power Systems as the company’s controller. He was also corporate controller at aerospace defense contractor Coleman Research Corporation, where he spent seven years. After beginning his financial career as an accountant with Eagle Technology, another aerospace technology firm in the Orlando area, he moved up to his first senior post as controller with Mills and Nebraska, Central Florida’s leading independent residential and commercial building supply company.
Jerry White was educated at the University of Central Florida, where he earned his bachelors degree in Accounting. He received his MBA from Webster University. He is relocating with his family from the Orlando area to South Carolina, where Avista Solutions is headquartered.
