“Cures” Author to Spearhead New Lobby in Health

Daphne, AL, October 15, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Rayna Gangi, author of “Forget The Cures, Find The Cause,” believes alternative therapists and practitioners can form a National group as large as the AMA.

“The American Medical Association along with pharmaceutical and insurance companies wields too much power and control the health of too many people,” says Gangi. “It’s time for chiropractors, massage therapists, Reflexologists, and other alternative health practitioners to band together as a cohesive lobby. Americans are looking for answers to health problems, and many rely on insurance to just get started. Most alternative therapies are not covered by insurance, so the consumer has no choice but to follow western medicine and then take the prescription drugs they can’t afford to buy. Alternative therapies such as massage can alleviate pain, increase circulation, lower blood pressure, aid in joint lubrication and help to flush the lymphatic system. Reflexology is an ancient method of balancing the organs and systems in the body. Couple this with the one-on-one therapeutic response versus the production line theory experienced by patients, and it becomes obvious that alternative and complementary therapies can reduce health care costs significantly.”

Gangi’s article on the future of health care in America is widely read on the internet and she believes there are more than enough practitioners who are classified as “alternative” to form a significant national group with “lobbying power.”

She plans on kicking off the campaign in Fairhope, Alabama during a presentation on holistic health on October 24 and then continuing her campaign in Florida, Buffalo, New York, and other stops on her national book tour.

“We don’t diagnose or prescribe,” she says. “But we do help a lot of people take charge of their health and begin the healing process. I don’t believe we have to fight the AMA, but I do believe we have to stand together and begin to disperse the power.”
