Games Workshop's North American Games Day of 2010

Baltimore, MD, December 31, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Games Day is first and foremost a celebration of the Games Workshop hobby; a hobby that started in Nottingham, England and over the past 25 years has been flourishing throughout U.S. and Canada. In prior years there have been as many as five Games Days in one year, but with the goal of collaborating efforts into one glorious event, Games Workshop plans to make history at the Baltimore Convention Center, August 21, 2010 for “the” North American 2010 Games Day.

Over the last few years Games Workshop has endeavored to be more attentive to the needs and suggestions of their loyal hobbyist. Striving to put forth a better quality experience, Games Workshop's 2010 Games Day is set to be a true culmination of the North American hobby with energy and resources put into one “Epic” event. Tickets, although limited, are available online for $25 USD and $28 CA. The Limited Edition Games Day model will be available for sale at the event, limited to one per paid ticket.

“We are keeping a lot of the time honored traditional bits, and improving other areas based on customer feedback, along with adding new interactive features,” commented Ed Spettigue, North American Sales and Promotions Director, on next years show. Spettigue has been with Games Workshop for 23 years and has found that “the consolidation to one annual Games Day has given us the targeted focus and resources to really explore the undone and give attendees the experience they are looking for.”

Each year hobbyists of all levels travel from near and far in order to join the many people who help make Games Day what it is. The show provides an atmosphere for friends (existing and new) to participate in the games, share adventures in the hobby, and relish in the entertainment and fun. Some exciting things to look forward to for the upcoming Games Day include the annual national Golden Demon painting competition, costume contests, a multitude of gaming, scenery make-and-take workshops, raffle prizes and of course much, much more.

As millions partake in the global hobby, many more are just hearing about this creative outlet that involves collecting, creating, painting, and building up armies for tabletop chess-like games where strategy can be disturbed with the power of the dice.

Updates on events, guests, and activities will be posted to the Games Workshop Games Day website. Tickets are available online only for the North American 2010 Games Day held at the Baltimore Convention Center on Saturday, August 21st, from ten o'clock a.m. to six o'clock p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
