18th Annual Yankee Sportsman’s Classic Show

Celebrate Hunting and Fishing Jan 15th – 17th 2010. The 18th Annual Yankee Sportsman's Classic Show will be held at the Champlain Valley Expo Center in Essex Junction, VT. The three day, 100,000 square foot event brings together 16,000 sportsmen, women and their families from all over New England to celebrate hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors.

The 18th Annual Yankee Sportsman's Classic Show will be held at the Champlain Valley Expo Center in Essex Junction, VT. The three day, 100,000 square foot event brings together sportsmen, women and their families from all over to celebrate hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors.

During this long weekend, you can attend seminars, check out the latest gear, take advantage of show specials, talk with wildlife and fisheries experts, and book your next hunting or fishing adventure. The kids can catch a fish in the catch, and release trout pond, take part in the kids archery or BB gun shoot, and practice on the hunting simulator. With nearly 175 exhibitors, there is something for everyone in your family. Special features include the Rainforest Reptile Show, Cold River Mining Company and New England’s WildCheff game cooking seminars. Have your rack officially scored by the Vermont Big Game Trophy Club, enter the NWTF turkey calling competition and learn to fly-fish, or demo equipment at the indoor fly casting pond. The Roots School will be teaching wilderness survival, primitive hunting and tool making techniques

With over 45 free seminars, you’ll get answers to your questions. Whitetail hunting will be presented by nationally acclaimed hunters such as Scott Kirkpatrick, Ken Hammel, Joe DiNitto, Jim Massett, Dean Vanier and Hal Blood. The Legendary Benoit’s will be there to share their 2009 hunting adventures. Expert gun dog trainer Alec Sparks, famed Quaker Boy Turkey caller Joe Judd, top predator hunter Sheri Baity and waterfowl hunter Bradley Carleton will all be on hand to share their secrets. Bob Shannon will share his proven fly-fishing tactics, Dave Genz, the Godfather of ice fishing, talks ice fishing done right and the VT Fish and Wildlife Dept will be going over the new big game management plan. Demo the latest Can-Am ATVs and Ski-Doo snowmobiles outside on the one mile course, compliments of the VT ATV Sportsman’s Association and BRP. Need a gun safe? With one in five Vermonters taking to the fields and streams and spending $258 million annually hunting and fishing is very important to both the culture and the rural economy. Champlain Valley Expo Center is located just east of 1nterstate 89 Exit 15 on Route 15, in Essex Jct. Show hours are Friday, Noon-8pm; Saturday, 9am-7pm; and Sunday, 9am-5pm.
