Biker Book Brings its Magic to Cambridge

Best-Selling Fantasy Author and Editor Danielle Ackley-McPhail comes to New England for the first time to promote her newest fantasy novel, The Halfling's Court, based on her stories from her award-winning faerie anthology series.

Cambridge, MA, January 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dark Quest Books’ author Danielle Ackley-McPhail heads to Arisia, one of Massachusett’s longstanding science fiction conventions, where she will officially launch her newest novel, The Halfling's Court: A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale. The book examines the dark and dangerous sides of fantasy, blended with a healthy dose of the biker mystique. There will be a launch party Sunday, January 17 in the party suite of fan John Glindenman. The convention is held each year at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge Hotel in Cambridge, MA.

The Halfling’s Court, based on stories that originally appeared in award-winning Bad-Ass Faeries anthology series, follows Lance Cosain, the leader of a biker gang of humans, halflings, and faeries. Both the anthologies and the novel came out of a desire to take faerie mythology back to its darker roots, when all was not goodness and light, but more mischief and mayhem. These faeries more closely resemble those of the ancient legends still passed down today in many parts of the world that haven’t lost touch with magic. The book is complemented by artwork by fantasy artist Linda Saboe, www.croneswood.com. To learn more about award-winning author and editor Danielle Ackley-McPhail visit www.sidhenadaire.com.

This is the first novel released by Dark Quest Books, a gaming publisher that began transitioning into fiction books with the anthology Skein of Shadows published in 2008. They increased their list in 2009 with the anthologies Mystic Investigators, Breach the Hull, So It Begins, and the novel Shimmer.
