In celebration of the 2010 Chopin Bicentennial, Kultur is proud to announce the DVD release of Chopin Celebration at the Palace of Lancut, Poland. This visually spectacular all-Chopin concert will be available on DVD January 26, 2010, for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Chopin Celebration was filmed on location at the magnificent Palace of Lancut in Poland, one of the country’s most sumptuous residences with beautiful surroundings and opulent interiors. In this elegant setting, soloist Marek Drewnowski gives impassioned performances of twelve of early Romantic composer Frederic Chopin’s most lyrical waltzes and the composer’s two beautiful piano concertos. Both were written before Chopin was twenty, although by this time he was already recognized as one of Poland’s great national composers.

Mr. Drewnowski’s performance is intercut with scenes of the Palace of Lancut – its Rococo Salon, Ballroom, Turkish Suite, Chinese Suite and Great Dining Room, with many eighteenth and nineteenth-century paintings, antiques and furniture.

For Chopin’s two concertos, the soloist is accompanied by the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra of Katowice, conducted by Antoni Wit.
