MiniCo Supports Statewide Food Bank with Holiday Donation
Phoenix, AZ, January 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In December 2009, MiniCo, Inc., made a donation to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, which will provide over 10,000 meals to Arizonans in need. MiniCo Chairman and CEO Hardy Good and Vice President Jim Clemmensen presented the check to Christina Calio, Business Development Officer for St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance.
As the 2009 holiday season approached, MiniCo’s Executive Management Team made the decision to eliminate corporate gifts and donate the money set aside for that purpose to a local charity. Mr. Good stated, “MiniCo is honored to support our local community and assist St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance in its efforts to feed the hungry in our state.”
The world’s first food bank, St. Mary’s is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization that disperses food to needy individuals and families in Arizona through 534 partner agencies in 750 sites. According to information provided by Ms. Calio, demand for food boxes has nearly doubled in the past two years. The organization estimates that currently one out of six Arizonans – including 338,000 children – lives in poverty, a number considerably higher than the national average of one in eight.
Since 1974, Phoenix-based MiniCo, Inc. has been a self-storage leader providing superior specialty insurance programs, informative publications and valuable products and services created expressly for the self‑storage industry.
