Audio Network Names Pete Lockett as January 2010 Composer of the Month
Audio Network is delighted to name Pete Lockett - one of the finest percussionists in the world - as their January 2010 Composer of the Month.
London, United Kingdom, January 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- For the beginning of the New Year and its January promotion, Audio Network is releasing 10 new albums of world music, highlighting the work of one of the finest and most successful percussionists in the world, Pete Lockett.
Despite his impressive reputation, Pete Lockett simply lives his music. He says, “I spend a considerable amount of time recording and travelling in India because that’s where the holy grail of percussion is. From a performing percussion point of view there is more to learn and more nuance to explore within the Indian rhythmic systems than you could find in a lifetime with most western music forms.”
An innate musical curiosity has also led Lockett into a deep and rich understanding of a variety of cultures and he is now equally accomplished at Japanese Taiko drumming as he is as a tabla player.
But Pete is by no means limited to ethnic styles and has become much sought after as session player and percussion arranger, famed for his ability to integrate seamlessly various musical styles from eclectic influences. His credits range from mainstream commercial pop and rock with artists like Björk, Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, Jeff Beck, The Verve, Pet Shop Boys and Amy Winehouse to film work on Bond movies Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough and Hollywood blockbusters like City of Angels (Meg Ryan), The Insider (Al Pacino), The Bone Collector, (Denzel Washington), The Quiet American (Michael Caine), Moulin Rouge, (Nicole Kidman), and the Guy Ritchie film ‘Snatch’.
Audio Network Creative Director, Andrew Sunnucks said, “Pete has become the master of a bewildering array of styles and instruments and when you meet him it is clear why. He is humble about his achievements and completely open minded to new ideas. Like other exceptionally talented individuals, it is actually this humility that drives the constant desire to improve and never to rest on his laurels. We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to be able to welcome Pete Lockett to Audio Network and showcase his music.”

Notes for Editors
Audio Network has an innovative licensing model which cuts through the traditionally complex and costly processes of licensing music, by pre-clearing all its tracks for worldwide and multi-platform use. This approach allows producers to make programmes for international distribution, emerging platforms and new media without the need to go through the complicated and expensive process of clearing individual tracks or re-versioning productions.
Audio Network owns the rights to an extensive catalogue of over 30,000 tracks covering the full range of music styles from classical to hip hop and from country to rock ‘n roll. Its high quality music, available in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound, is created by established international composers and recorded by major orchestras and artistes including The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Dame Evelyn Glennie OBE and Sir John Dankworth CBE.
The company supplies music and more than 50,000 sound effects to major international film, television, advertising and media clients including Universal Pictures, BBC, Ogilvy and BT Vision.
Audio Network also provides original scoring, audio branding and sound design services and is a joint venture between many well known music composers who create bespoke music for license.
