Visix Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Atlanta, GA, January 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- This January Visix begins celebrating its 30th year in business. The digital signage software company will commemorate this milestone by launching several new products, hosting special events, moving to new offices, and expanding the personnel roster.
The company will launch a new media management tool in early 2010 that will be free of charge to all Visix clients. Additionally, new software products will begin shipping in the third quarter of the year, marking a vastly expanded offering in the company’s visual communications products. Visix also plans to submit its first application for a UL Listing in the mass notification classification – a pioneering move in the digital signage software industry.
In addition to internal events for Visix employees, the company will extend its 30th anniversary celebration to industry exhibits throughout the year with special promotions, contests and giveaways. Visix booth C4745 at InfoComm, to be held in June in Las Vegas, will host a three-day 30th anniversary party for attendees, clients, resellers and media representatives. An open house is planned for the fall in Norcross, Georgia, to celebrate their move to new expanded headquarters.
Over the past three decades, the visual communications industry has grown out of the marriage of AV and IT technologies. Visix has kept pace by transitioning from a hardware manufacturer to software developer to meet its customers’ needs. According to company President, Sean Matthews, "For the first 25 years we produced solid, well-engineered hardware products used in a variety of video and computing applications. By producing quality products we gained a loyal following and a supportive channel. This set the stage for our explosive growth beginning in 2005. Once we made the decision to focus solely on integrated communications software, our efforts paid off in triple-digit success. Looking forward, I believe we will double our current revenues within the next two years.”
Visix, Inc. was originally founded as Tech Electronics, Inc. (TEi) in 1980 by Ed Matthews. Its first product was a programmable video controller, literally hard-wired on an office desk in an aluminum enclosure and sold to one local client. The company has evolved to offer a suite of software applications and services to campus and corporate clients comprising over 1200 deployments on three continents. Visix has been ranked three years running on the Inc.5000 List of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies, and has received multiple industry awards throughout its history.
The company remains privately held, and has grown from just two employees in 1980 to over 30 today. Matthews continues, “We owe our success to our employees and our clients; they've been loyal, engaged, and highly supportive over the years. We're happy to have succeeded this long through building relationships, both inside the company and out. While the company has grown, our mission of continually adding value to our offering remains the same.”
Today, Visix is introducing new products for visual messaging to displays and other non-traditional endpoints, as well as expanding its flagship product – AxisTV digital signage software – to include more sophisticated capabilities for content management across enterprise environments.
