Kapp Alloy & Wire Receives Technology Grant
Kapp Alloy & Wire was awarded a technology grant from eBizITPA, which will be used to update both of the company's websites, www.kappalloy.com and www.solderdirect.com.
Oil City, PA, January 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Kapp Alloy & Wire, a leading solder, spraywire, and Babbitt manufacturer located in Oil City, PA, was recently awarded an IT KickStart grant from the Center for eBusiness and Advanced IT (eBizITPA). The grant will be used to update both the main Kapp Alloy website (www.kappalloy.com) and a consumer ecommerce website (www.solderdirect.com).
“One of the greatest challenges facing business today is successfully integrating changes in technology to grow the business,” noted Kapp Alloy’s president, Jack Crawford. “This grant will help Kapp Alloy & Wire meet worldwide customer demand for 24-hour access to information and sales.”
The grant is part of an IT implementation program run by eBizITPA, which includes some funding from the Northwest Industrial Resource Center (NWIRC). eBizITPA is a technology-based economic development organization whose mission is to assist Pennsylvania businesses with understanding, using, and developing information technologies to grow the economy.
“Kapp Alloy & Wire is a great candidate for this grant because they have been a PA business for over 50 years, and are continuing to develop the economy in our area and to create jobs. The updates they plan for their websites will continue this tradition by updating functions like ecommerce on their website, and by utilizing other PA businesses on this project” said Amy Bridger, Director of Advanced Technology Products & Projects for eBizITPA.
Kapp Alloy & Wire will be partnering with Allegheny Graphics (www.alleghenygraphics.com) of Kittanning, PA, to update the websites.
