San Francisco, CA, January 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The second Flux Summit is set for Thursday, January 21 at Pyramind Studios in San Francisco. The first event, which took place on October 1, 2009, was heralded by the SF Weekly All Shook Down blog as “…a watershed event for SF's electronic music scene.” The Flux Summit is San Francisco’s premier electronic music industry event. It’s a free (with RSVP), quarterly event consisting of a discussion on a current topic affecting the industry, a mixer and a music review session.

The topic for the second Flux Summit is “What's Shaking Down SF Music Venues?” This discussion will bring together top representatives in SF’s music nightlife to explore and debate the issues facing music venues in San Francisco. Attendees will learn about the challenges facing the electronic music community and find out how they can get involved. The discussion will be moderated by Michael Winger, Recording Academy SF Chapter Secretary. Other speakers include Debra Walker (candidate for SF District 6 Supervisor and advisor of the SF Music and Sustainability policy), Terrance Alan (SF Entertainment Commission Founding President), Mark Rennie (Entertainment Law Specialist) and Tim Benetti (co-owner of nightclub, Bottom of the Hill).

The debut event held this past October focused the discussion on “21st Century PR & Marketing,” and was moderated by Tomas Palermo with speakers from Om Records (DJ/producer, J. Boogie), IODA, Terrorbird Media and IDC. View a great roundup video at http://www.fluxsummit.com.

In addition to the discussion and mixer, an integral part of the summit is Test Press, the music review session that enables DJs, producers and artists to gain instant feedback on their music from top industry experts. Past industry experts include representatives from Microsoft Zune, Ingrooves, Om Records, XLR8R, Amoeba Records, and Pandora. Test Press is currently accepting track submissions for consideration at http://www.epiphyterecords.com/test-press/next-event.html.

With the music industry rapidly changing, Flux was created to encourage interaction and open up discussion on emerging trends in the electronic music community. Flux Summit is a free event but, RSVP is required and capacity is limited. For more information and to RSVP visit http://www.fluxsummit.com. Get involved on January 21st.
