Portable All-In-One Computer from NextComputing Packs Desktop Gaming Performance Into Small Package; the Radius XG
NextComputing has developed a high-performance gaming PC that is more powerful than a laptop, but more portable than a tower. The Radius XG makes its public debut at CES 2010.
Nashua, NH, January 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- NextComputing (www.nextcomputing.com), manufacturers of high-performance, portable computers, today announces its entry into the gaming market with Radius XG, a high-performance, all-in-one portable computer designed for uncompromised gaming on the go. The system will be demonstrated at the International CES in Las Vegas, NV, January 7-10, 2010 at the Intel Corporation booth (#7153).

Radius XG is designed for gamers looking for a system with high-end desktop performance, who want to take their gaming rig with them with minimal hassle. Its compact, briefcase-like chassis is easy to transport and houses all of the system’s components, including an integrated 17” HD display. Dimensions are only 16.8" wide by 5.94" deep x 11.44" high, smaller even than a typical small form-factor LAN party PC which does not include a display. The entire system weighs 15 lbs and comes with a convenient carrying case that can fit all your peripherals.
The unique look and feel of Radius lets gamers stand out from the crowd. Aside from the built-in display, Radius XG also supports up to two more of NextComputing’s portable, lightweight 17” HD displays, offering the market’s only portable, high-resolution, triple-display setup. Other unique features include its comfortable leather handle, tool-less removable 2.5” hard drives, damage resistant automotive finishing, and kick-back support legs that allow the system to tilt back on your desk for laptop-like viewing.
Unlike high-end gaming notebooks that claim to offer desktop PC performance in a portable system, Radius XG uses actual desktop components for the real gaming performance you expect. Radius XG currently supports the Intel® Core® i7 and Core i7 Extreme Edition processors up to 3.33 GHz, up to 24GB DDR3 memory in triple-channel configurations, and a selection of the latest NVIDIA® GeForce® and ATI™ Radeon™ graphics cards. The system also supports several fixed and removable 2.5” SATA hard drives, including SSD options. And unlike any laptop, Radius XG is totally upgradeable, including more memory, storage, or additional graphics cards.
“We’ve seen a gap in the PC gaming market for a mobile system that’s more powerful than a laptop, but still easy to transport. Since NextComputing already specializes in high-performance, mobile computers, it seemed a natural thing for us to help fill this gap,” says Bob Labadini, President/CTO of NextComputing. “We believe the Radius XG is a great option for performance-hungry gamers who need to take their rig with them.”
