IHR Becomes Online Partners of MTDC

With this deal IHR has now become the only OTC outside Maharashtra to get MTDC’s authorization. IHR is now entailed to sell all the hotels, guesthouses, resorts, and tours of MTDC across Maharashtra. Announcing this new initiative Mr. Ankit Rastogi the Business head of IHR termed the step as an “important milestone” and took the opportunity to emphasis on the marketing strategy behind such a move.

“Having established a strong relationship with the Maharashtrians, the move to tie-up with MTDC comes as a natural progression. IHR sees a monthly 40 to 50 % traffic from the Mumbai region alone and we are already selling close to 100 destinations in Maharashtra. Mumbai weekend packages, Shirdi and other pilgrimages like Tuljapur and Pandharpur are hot sellers. There is a beeline for the destinations round the year by FITs, Corporate and normal budget class travelers. With MTDC of late making a proactive effort towards driving tourism in the state with innovative travel circuits and initiatives like Deccan Odyssey, MTDC fits well into the overall marketing strategy and augurs well for us.” Underlined Mr. Rastogi

“Traditionally, IHR’s forte has been Maharashtra. It offers a huge pie to all kinds of tourists with scenic beaches along the 720 km Konkan Coastline, hill stations on the Western Ghats, sacred pilgrimages and caves. There are certain places in Mahartashtra where only MTDC properties exist. So if we promise to deliver our customers the best of the location – an accommodation ‘right on the beach’ or ‘next to the temple precincts’ MTDC with its long haul of best located properties would now make it possible.” Stressed Ankit.

On the concluding note Mr. Rastogi said IHR wants to be a player with formidable pan India presence. It is already partnering JKTDC and UPTDC up in north, while in south it is an online partner of KSTDC, with this brand new tie-up with MTDC IHR wants to cozy up to the lucrative western sector.
