Scintillating Captain's Knock by Thanga-TrendSetters Starts New Year on a Winning Note; Defeats HCL
Chennai, India, January 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- TrendSetters starts the New Year with a thumping win against HCL XI. Winning has become a habit for TrendSetters and big teams in Chennai are again and again failing to stop the unstoppable "TrendSetters."
The champion "TrendSetters" team arrived at RA Puram ground to unleash their cricketing talent. The opponent team "HCL XI" did showcase their batting and bowling prowess during their practice session." HCL XI" hadn't played against "Trensetters" before and they had no idea on the abundant pool of cricketing talent possessed by TrendSetters. People who are very talented never show off, they keep their cool and deliver the best when it matters; TrendSetters has adopted this attitude and you can guess 'why they are on the top.'
"HCL XI" won the toss and elected to bat first. TrendSetters bowlers bowled exceptionally well to restrict HCL XI to 55 in 12 overs. Thanga, Banu, Raja, Bapu, Kamal, Jaikanth were the bowlers who performed well. The other highlights of the match are; kamalchandran's diving catch, Arvind's brilliant stumping etc.
TrendSetters began their chase. Banu and Arvind opened the innings and the two gave a good start to the chase. Jaikanth, one of the great players in the TrendSetter team set his foot on the batting crease after the fall of couple of wickets. The needed runs usually shrinks quickly when Jaikanth is at the crease and the same thing happened in this match also. KamalChandran Joined Jaikanth, and from there the two came back to the pavilion only after seeing their team through.
"HCL XI" showed their interest to play one more match and "TrendSetters" reciprocated. This time it was a ten over match, TrendSetters decided to bat first after getting the toss in their favor."TrendSetters" team and the packed audience in the stadium were about to witness the much awaited captain's innings from Thanga from this juncture onwards.Thanga entered the batting field and began attacking the opponents bowling mercilessly with his power batting; 'it was raining sixes and fours.' Somehow HCL XI managed to get Thanga out but only after adequate damage was done. But the show wasn't over yet, it continued in the form of Jaikanth.TrendSetters piled up 85 runs in 10 overs.
Needing 86 runs to win from 10 overs, HCL XI players started their chase. Thanga bowled superbly and removed couple of quick wickets and almost laid the victory platform for "TrendSetters." KamalChandran also bowled well with good pace, shattered the stumps couple of times, gave away very little runs.The other bowlers who bowled well were Jaikanth, Banu, Bapu and Rajesh."HCL XI" played till last ball of the match but managed to score only less than half of the required runs.
