Quantros Names New EVP of Product Management & Services
Kaiser Healthcare veteran joins Silicon Valley software company.
Kihei, HI, January 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Gerard Livaudais, MD, MPH, a healthcare executive with extensive experience in healthcare IT and clinical services management, is joining Quantros, Inc., as Executive Vice President of Product Management & Services.
Livaudais, most recently in charge of population and preventive care and an internist at Kaiser-Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, Inc., will focus on ensuring the highest quality of existing products at Quantros while overseeing new product development and market expansion.
Livaudais comes to Quantros with a record of full-cycle innovation, development, testing and production of software applications for clinical care and healthcare administration. At Kaiser Healthcare, Livaudais developed successful applications in several different settings, with different programming teams, and for different user communities. These applications provided the foundation for Kaiser Hawaii region's achievement of first in the nation for quality in screening for both breast cancer and diabetic renal disease. The applications also contributed to a nearly 20% improvement in cholesterol and blood pressure management over one year.
With increasing federal government focus on increasing information technology to improve healthcare quality, Livaudais said it is "just an unbelievable position for a company like Quantros" to service existing clients and expand its business.
Livaudais' experience in healthcare IT and quality in varied clinical settings will help Quantros respond to the national interest in the "meaningful use of data" to improve safety and quality in both hospitals and clinics. The federal government recently issued interim rules defining the meaningful use criteria that hospitals and physicians must meet to access the estimated $20 billion in federal healthcare IT incentives starting next year.
"Gerard has a keen sense of advanced electronic medical record implementations and the connection with quality and performance improvement integration opportunities," said Sanjaya Kumar, MD, Quantros' President and Chief Medical Officer.
Livaudais will also help lead Quantros' growth into other settings and global markets. "As we expand into alternative markets and healthcare segments, Gerard's background and experience will be invaluable to further guide our success," Kumar added.
Prior to working for Kaiser, Livaudais was Associate Clinical Coordinator at Oregon Medical Peer Review Organization. Earlier, he was Vice President/Medical Affairs, Louisiana Health Care Review. He has extensive experience as a medical director in multispecialty group practices and independent practice associations, and as a practicing internist.
Livaudais lives in Kihei, HI, with his wife, Felicitas Livaudais, MD. They have two children, Luke and Mia.
