Choice Logistics Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification
Adherence to stringent requirements demonstrates client commitment.
New York, NY, January 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Choice Logistics, the global specialist in outsourced mission-critical service parts logistics services, has been certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant by the International Organization for Standardization. This standard ensures that Choice consistently meets and exceeds client satisfaction and regulatory requirements throughout the entire organization. The new certification represents an upgrade from the company’s previous ISO 9001:2000 classification.
“The world of mission-critical service parts logistics hinges upon a sound operational approach to meet the needs of clients on a global basis,” said Michael Katz, CEO, Choice Logistics. “Establishing reliable processes and training our personnel accordingly is fundamental to the credibility of our company. We proactively pursued the new, more stringent 2008 standard to demonstrate our commitment for ongoing improvement and operational excellence. The independent validation of ISO certification provides peace of mind to clients that Choice Logistics is committed to sound management practices that are thoroughly measured and evaluated.”
To secure 9001:2008 certification, Choice was carefully evaluated throughout the enterprise, from operations and information systems to accounting and human resources. The analysis included a thorough audit of policies and practices governing operations confirming that these processes are applied with a commitment towards ongoing improvement. The scope of the audit process doubled in comparison to the previous 9001:2000 review.
ISO certification complements Choice’s stringent internal performance standards. The company operates under the mission statement of: “Delivering quality one part at a time.” To fulfill this proclamation, Choice regularly conducts internal evaluations to ensure that all employees and process are in compliance with strict ISO quality control measures throughout every department.
About ISO
ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. It is a network of the national standards institutes of 162 countries, one member per country, with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland, that coordinates the system.
ISO is a non-governmental organization that forms a bridge between the public and private sectors. On the one hand, many of its member institutes are part of the governmental structure of their countries, or are mandated by their government. On the other hand, other members have their roots uniquely in the private sector, having been set up by national partnerships of industry associations. Therefore, ISO enables a consensus to be reached on solutions that meet both the requirements of business and the broader needs of society.
