Mr. Bhattacharya is Portfolio Manager in the U.S. Fixed Income and Structured Credit Team of Fortis Investments. He joined Fortis in June 2006. Before joining Fortis, Mr. Bhattacharya worked as a CMO Trader at RBS Greenwich Capital and Barclays Capital. He structured and traded fixed-rate agency and non-agency CMOs. His focus was non-agency CMOs, especially the Alternative-A sector. Between new issue and secondary bonds he traded north of $5bn bonds. Prior to that, he worked at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup in mortgage research. He was responsible for quantitative prepayment modeling and strategy for the adjustable-rate mortgage sector. He also worked on the mortgage index and portfolio analysis. Before that, he worked with Citibank N.A. in Singapore and Bombay in their consumer services group. Mr. Bhattacharya has 16 years of industry experience; he holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Engineering-Economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A from University of Chicago.
