Uneven Growth for Industrial Automation in China Amid Export and Capacity Increases
GCiS China Strategic Research has published a study of the China market for automatic process controllers (APC), used in industrial automation. Production and sales of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) are quantified for multiple industry and regional segments nationwide between 2009 and 2014.
Shanghai, China, January 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The study finds that the market, while still enjoying double digit growth, will grow at a slower rate over the next five years than it has done in the previous five. Growth and opportunities will remain uneven as certain sectors such as power transmission and pharmaceuticals grow faster than others such as textiles and toys recover more slowly. Exports will remain weak for the near term, but as most of the market is geared to domestic consumption, this will be of minor significance.
The best opportunities are found in the petrochemicals, chemicals and power industries. Major customers in these sectors are in need of high-precision and reliability and are willing to pay for it. This will see foreign suppliers retain their overall dominance of the PLC and DCS markets, while domestic companies will benefit more from SCADA contracts in the power T&D sector.
