ABC11 Eyewitness News Partners with Harris Teeter to Assist Haiti After Catastrophic Earthquake
Raleigh, NC, January 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- ABC11 Eyewitness News (www.abc11.com) has announced that the news station is partnering with Harris Teeter, a North Carolina-based grocery store chain, to provide relief funds to Haiti in the aftermath of the Jan. 12 earthquake. Beginning on Friday, Jan. 15, all Harris Teeter stores will sell $1 and $5 Haiti Earthquake Relief cards. All money raised from these cards will directly benefit the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will support the affected national societies by providing relief supplies, emergency response units, personnel and support for long-term reconstruction.

Shoppers who want to contribute to the cause should pick up either the $1 or $5 card, and tell the cashier they would like to make a donation. The cards will be scanned and added to the grocery total. There is no limit on the number of cards which may be purchased.

Stogner traveled to Haiti with the 82nd Airborne Division in its mission to provide humanitarian support to the country after a magnitude 7 earthquake devastated the country on Jan. 12. As of Thursday, Jan. 14, Larry Stogner was the only news anchor in the Raleigh/Durham/Fayetteville market assigned to report live from Haiti.
