Snoqualmie, WA, January 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A public Forum on the leading cause for drug related deaths in King County is planned for 7:00pm February 24th at Mt. Si High School in Snoqualmie. The Youth Prescription Drug Abuse Community Education Forum will invite parents, grandparents and other adults to “check, lock and dispose” their prescription drugs before the harm or death of a young person occurs in the Snoqualmie Valley due to lack of awareness.
The Forum is sponsored by the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Foundation. In announcing the Forum, SVHF President Jim Schaffer commented, “three in five teenagers say they can get drugs right from their parents' medicine cabinets.” Schaffer, who is also the City of Snoqualmie Police Chief, continued, “we’re asking local businesses and others to help promote the forum in whatever way they feel appropriate. Organizations who help promote this forum will receive official recognition on our website and in the event’s program along with our sincere thanks and appreciation.”
The Forum’s guest speaker is Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna who will be joined by panelists from Seattle based SAMA Foundation and the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital District. Encompass Executive Director Gregory Malcolm moderates.
