Sharing Travel Experiences Announces Their Top Five Travel Destinations for Inspiration in 2010
Nepal and India are just a couple of the places where you should find yourself in the New Year.
Edinburgh, United Kingdom, January 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Leading travel website Sharing Travel Experiences has released their top five travel destinations for inspiration in 2010, just in time for travellers working on their New Year’s travel resolutions. Nepal, Cuba, Vancouver, India, and the three 2010 European Capitals of Culture made the list. Many put off travel in 2009 in the midst of the global recession, but those same people are now eager for some rich cultural experiences in 2010 to get a fresh perspective and see more of the world.
The top of the list features Nepal, which has been pushing hard to get the attention of travel press and media in order to shape people’s impressions of this landlocked country. This year’s European Cities of Culture nominees also made the list for being slightly off the beaten track yet charming in their own right.
“It’s a pretty well balanced list,” says Andy Hayes, Managing Editor of Sharing Travel Experiences. He explains that “by intention, a couple of places might be a long stretch for some timid travellers, but others are familiar names that are worth revisiting – or indeed classic travel stops that many people still haven’t seen.” Back in November, Hayes attended one of the travel industry’s premier events, World Travel Market, which offered some excellent insights into the destinations that everyone is talking about.
Donna Zabel, Sharing Travel Experience’s travel concierge, also adds: “While it is nearly impossible to come up with a list that will satisfy everyone, our goal isn’t to tell people exactly where to go but give them some inspiration and guidance in the process of choosing the perfect holiday destination.”
Sharing Travel Experiences drew from the knowledge of their community of travellers to further round out the list; India also got top marks, a choice based on the fact that many of the site’s weekly interviews with travellers from around the world almost always mention the country as a place to find true inspiration.
Perhaps Sharing Travel Experience’s lifestyle design columnist Alex Fayle sums it up best: “Whatever your attitude it, resolutions or no resolutions, I think you should have some fun this coming year.”
