TERRY Environmental Services, recently recognized as one of the nation’s top 2500 fastest growing companies, is expanding and has hired Jack M. “Bo” Ellis, III as a senior environmental engineer.

Charleston, SC, January 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- TERRY Environmental Services, hired Jack M. “Bo” Ellis, III as a senior environmental engineer. His responsibilities include managing the environmental and water resources engineering projects for TERRY’s governmental and industrial clients in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

TERRY Environmental Services was recently recognized as one of the nation’s top 2500 fastest growing companies. The Company is currently focusing on federal, state, and local governmental clients needing environmental management and regulatory compliance services, and those remediating and redeveloping formerly used defense, commercial or industrial sites.

Ellis has over 30 years experience in the environmental engineering field. He most recently served as vice president, principal environmental engineer and program manager for Applied Technology and Management in Charleston, SC and Dubai, UAE. He managed the environmental planning and permitting of a number of large, complex and controversial port, harbor, waterfront and coastal development projects, throughout the South Atlantic US and internationally in the Bahamas, Caribbean, and UAE.

Ellis graduated from The Citadel with a BS degree in civil engineering and obtained his Masters of Engineering in civil engineering from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. While at The Citadel, he received the Le Tellier Award as the top civil engineering graduate. Ellis was a Thornton Fellow at the University of Virginia where he specialized in water resources and environmental regulatory compliance post graduate studies. He has published and presented papers at many international conferences and earned the Trainor Award from the US Army Corps of Engineers for expediting the development of a multi-disciplined Environmental Impact Statement for a large, federal civil works project in Savannah, GA.

Ellis is a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina and California. He has also received further environmental training and certifications, including OSHA- HAZWOPER and FERC Environmental Compliance.

He is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the Association of American Port Authorities, the Water Environmental Federation, the South Carolina Association of Storm Water Managers, and The Citadel Alumni Association. Ellis lives in Summerville, his hometown, with his family and is a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
