Shoe Metro Teams with Soles4Souls to Aid Haiti Relief Efforts
Shoe Metro contributes to Haiti relief efforts by supporting shoe charity, Soles4Souls. Shoe Metro will collect shoe donations from customers and offer a discount for charitable customers as an incentive to donate.
San Diego, CA, January 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In an effort to contribute aid to the victims of the crisis in Haiti, Shoe Metro has teamed with shoe charity, Soles4Souls, to donate much needed footwear to the disaster-struck region.
Shoe Metro will help collect footwear for Soles4Souls at their retail store location in San Diego. Starting today until February 12, customers at Shoe Metro will be able to drop off their gently worn pairs of men's, women's and children's shoes. To give customers added incentive to donate, Shoe Metro is offering customers a special 10% discount off the purchase of one pair of shoes for every pair donated. Multiple donations extend that discount to the purchase of more pairs of shoes.
"News of the crisis in Haiti has deeply affected all of us as a people," says David Duong, President and CEO of Shoe Metro. "But it's in these devastating moments that we can come together and show the full power of our compassion. Shoe Metro will continue to support charities like Soles4Souls in all of their humanitarian efforts."
All the shoes collected at the store will be sent to the Nashville-based Soles4Souls charity, which will then distribute the shoes to people in Haiti. Shoe Metro customers who do not have shoes to donate can choose to make an in-store cash donation, which will also be sent to the Soles4Souls charity. Online customers at www.shoemetro.com who would like to make a monetary donation are being directed to the website of Soles4Souls.
Soles4Souls has pledged to donate more than 250,000 pairs of shoes to areas affected by the earthquakes in Haiti. The shoe charity has joined forces with Operation Compassion, a charity that organizes the distribution of support to victims of natural disasters all around the world, to administer the aid. Thirty containers of supplies--including rain boots, work boots, children's shoes, and clothing--have already been sent to Haiti.
