Holmes Meets Watson - Again
Denver, CO, October 23, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press, Inc. is pleased to bring you Flat at 221B Baker Street by Joseph R. Cammarata. This brand-new mystery features a descendent of the most famous detective in all of fiction—Sherlock Holmes. There have been many theatrical, cinematic, and literary adaptations of and tributes to the Holmes legend over the years, but never before has an author been able to so adeptly merge the Holmesian world with our own.
Geoffrey Holmes moves to London to begin his career as a private investigator. As fate would have it, he finds an apartment at 221B Baker Street, which was once home to Sherlock himself. When a local woman turns up dead, Geoffrey decides to pursue the case, as the police have no leads. His investigations lead him to the beautiful Bridget Watson-Burns, who is also trying to find the killer. Geoffrey is amazed to discover that the green-eyed doctor is descended from John Watson, Sherlock’s old partner. Mr. Cammarata skillfully titillates the reader as he shows us that this doctor is nothing like her ancestor!
As she leaned over to get some folders from her valise, the scarf loosened and she quickly fixed it; a half smile crossed her face as she said, “Damn scarf, but a woman doesn’t dare go out baring her chest without being leered at, present company excluded.” Her smile broadened. “At least I didn’t notice you leering.”
She sat opposite him. He was blushing now. “Of course not.”
She placed a few folders on the table. “I just realized I know your name, but I neglected to introduce myself.” She held out her hand, long slender fingers with perfectly manicured nails. “Doctor Bridget Watson-Burns.”
Flat at 221B Baker Street is a fast-paced, all-original adventure with new characters for a new generation. Holmes fans old and new will relish the unpredictable plot twists and cliffhanger moments, told in the great tradition of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
