The Arab Regional Company for Technology and Telecommunications (ARCO) announced the release of the updated cutting edge Dec '09 GPS Navigation map of Jordan from the global map provider, NAVTEQ.
The new map update release from NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions, has increased the number of Points of Interest (POI) in Jordan's map from 13,000 to over 23,000 locations providing a more comprehensive coverage of all major tourist attractions, hospitals, schools, banks, ATM's, restaurants and cafes in addition to much more.
In light of this new release VP Business Development at ARCO, Mr. Laith Hammo stated: "We are ecstatic to unveil the new release of NAVTEQ's map of Jordan especially now that it incorporates building numbers, a request we have received from our customers. ARCO in cooperation with NAVTEQ will be releasing updates on a bi-annual basis reflecting any changes including new streets, updated street names and adding new Points of Interest (POI) thus ensuring an enriched customer experience.
The updated NAVTEQ map of Jordan release will be available in all ARCO Points of Sale; existing customers can receive the update free of charge.
