The Coleman Institute Opens New Facility in West Virginia

Nationally acclaimed addiction treatment specialist Dr. Peter Coleman opens office in Barboursville, WV with Dr. Jimmy Adams.

Richmond, VA, January 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- As part of The Coleman Institute’s goal to offer its unique services to a broader population, the Richmond, VA-based addiction treatment center is partnering with Dr. Jimmy Adams in Barboursville, WV. One of the poorest states in America, West Virginia is plagued by poverty and unemployment: two major psychographic factors tied to alcohol and illicit substance use. Dr. Adams currently runs Active Physical Medicine & Pain Center in Barboursville, an out-patient facility specializing in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of acute and chronic pain. The facility will expand its treatment services on February 1st to include The Coleman Institute’s highly successful detox procedures for alcohol, heroin and other narcotics.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our organization to help more people lead better lives, no longer burdened by alcohol or drug addictions,” said founder, Dr. Peter Coleman. “The partnership with Dr. Adams will allow us to reach and assist an especially vulnerable state in this exceptionally harsh economic climate.”

The US Department of Health & Human Services estimates that 120,000 West Virginia residents over the age of 12 are dependent on or abusing alcohol and/or illicit drugs such as marijuana, cocaine (including crack-cocaine), heroin, hallucinogens, inhalants or prescription-type psychotherapeutics. This startling statistic may be the direct result of the state’s high percentage of population under the poverty level (16.9%) and increasing unemployment rate (up to 7.9% as of fourth-quarter 2009).The Coleman Institute’s proven detox procedure combines the Accelerated Detoxification Technique to help patients comfortably and safely cleanse their bodies of the drug, and post-detox Naltrexone therapy to prevent future use and dependency on the drug. All detox patients are also paired with an Aftercare Specialist for medical monitoring and assistance during the transition into their new, sober lives, which plays an integral part in The Coleman Institute’s 99% success rate.

The Coleman Institute has successfully treated thousands of drug and alcohol abusers since its establishment in 1998, and is hoping to make a similar impact on the residents in the Tri-State area surrounding Barboursville, West Virginia. The Institute has offices in Richmond, Virginia, Chicago, Illinois, Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, and offers its one-of-a-kind Accelerated Detoxification Treatment to people all over the United States.

Dr. Jimmy Adams and the Active Physical Medicine & Pain Center will adopt The Coleman Institute’s detoxification producedures as part of their standard patient services on Feburary 1, 2009. The location will stay the same at 6007 US Rt. 60 East, Suite 304 in Barboursville, West Virginia 25504.
