Greater Frederick Advertising Federation Hosting Logo Trends Event with Design Expert Bill Gardner
Bill Gardner, president of Gardner Design, is the founder of LogoLounge.com, a website that allows designers to share their concepts with peers, enabling them to build off of each other’s ideas and adapt to current trends. The Greater Frederick Advertising Federation will feature Gardner at their upcoming Logo Trends even this Thursday, January 28 at 5:30 pm at the Creekside Conference Center in downtown Frederick.
Frederick, MD, January 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Logos, perhaps the simplest piece of a company’s identity, are often the most complicated to develop. Any designer can attest how challenging it is to capture the essence of an entire organization in a concise yet appealing design and (sometimes) a few words.
Gardner, also the author of the best-selling series of LogoLounge books, will discuss over 30 current trends in logo design, delving into where these trends come from and how they relate to popular culture. According to Gardner, even in austere times, an organization’s logo “should set a long-term course for clients, not fall into pits carved out by economic phases.”
“I encourage the entire Frederick community to not miss this exciting opportunity,” GFAF president Louanne Welgoss said. “Bill and his team are exposed to over 25,000 logos each year and will give us the inside scoop on upcoming logo design trends for 2010.”
The cost of the event is $15 for GFAF members and $25 for non-members. Those interested can RSVP to rsvp@greaterfrederickadfed.org.
In addition to this educational event, the GFAF is also accepting donations for their year-long public service campaign with AnySoldier.com. To date, the GFAF and its community supporters have donated items for over 90 care packages that were sent to U.S. servicemen and women overseas.
