OHL Inks Huge Lease in North Carolina

Statesville, NC, January 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Brentwood, TN- based ProVenture, a leading provider of corporate real estate advisory and consulting services, announced Wednesday that its client OHL (Ozburn-Hessey Logistics) has leased 471,000 SF in Statesville, NC. The building, owned by Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE: LXP), is being vacated by La-Z-Boy, Inc. who has occupied the entire 639,000 SF distribution center since 2005. OHL plans on taking occupancy in the first quarter of 2010. A bright spot given the state of the regional economy, the transaction marks the largest new lease in the Charlotte region in 2009 according to CoStar, the nation’s leading real estate research firm.

“OHL currently has a Global Freight Management & Logistics division office in Charlotte, but this deal marks the first location for OHL’s Contract Logistics division in the Charlotte area,” says Jeb Atkinson of ProVenture’s Logistics Practice Group, who handled the site selection, location analysis, and negotiated the lease on behalf of OHL. Ted Haley with Charlotte-based Lincoln Harris brokered the deal on behalf of the landlord. This particular site search that ProVenture conducted for OHL included several midwest and mid-atlantic markets before being narrowed down to the Charlotte region.
