Hampshire Farmers’ Markets at Romsey: New Year, New Market, New Location, Great Offers

Romsey, United Kingdom, January 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Hampshire Farmers’ Market at Romsey is permanently moving to a new location in 2010. The new market, will be held at Alma Road Car Park from Sunday 7th February.

Romsey market is held bi-monthly and is very popular with local people. However, the opportunity arose to move to a larger, much more central location in the town which will enable the market to expand and give more people the opportunity to take advantage of local produce.

To celebrate the change the market on Sunday 7th February will be a hive of cooking activity. They’ll have their cooking unit at the market and will have cooking demonstrations from Lainston House at Sparsholt, The White Horse in Romsey and The Wheatsheaf at Braishfield.

Some of the recipes will have an ‘apple’ theme, to coincide with National Bramley Apple Week.

Also at the market for the children will be a petting animal farm with ponies, sheep, calves, rabbits and chickens amongst others.

Hampshire Farmers Markets has strict criteria for its producers which means that anything sold at market must have been grown, reared, baked, pickled or otherwise produced within Hampshire or ten miles of its borders. This means that whatever you buy, you are supporting the local economy and its farmers.
