Practice Velocity® Urgent Care EMR Adds Client in Forty-Eighth State
With the addition of Urgent Care Plus in Helena, Montana, Practice Velocity® now serves the software needs of clinics in forty-eight states. Over 600 urgent care centers use Practice Velocity software for patient registration, insurance verification, electronic medical records (EMR), coding, electronic billing and back office management.
Belvidere, IL, January 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- With the January, 2010 opening of Urgent Care Plus in Helena, Montana, Practice Velocity® Urgent Care Solutions® now serves urgent care physicians and administrators in every state except South Dakota and North Dakota.
Practice Velocity will provide its online urgent care EMR software and practice management software to the new urgent care center. Patients will be able to use Practice Velocity's unique ZipPass® to "Get in line--online," so they can wait at home or work instead of in the clinic. Its subsidiary PV Billing will provide billing services for the urgent care center. The rapid growth of PV Billing has highlighted the need for specialist urgent care billers. In 2009, PV Billing processed over $100-million dollars in claims for urgent care centers, and Practice Velocity software has been used to document over 7-million patient visits to date.
The opening of Urgent Care Plus was great news for the downtown area of Helena, as the area had been left without an urgent care. After 27 years working as an emergency physician, Medical Director and owner Dr. Mark Ibsen decided that the time was right to venture out into the urgent care business.
Practice Velocity CEO David Stern, MD said: “We are happy to be a part of providing urgent care services to the downtown area of Helena, Montana. We feel that our motto, ‘It’s not about our software; it’s all about your urgent care success,’ applies in a special way to the owners, staff and patients of Urgent Care Plus.”
With approximately 30,000 residents, Helena is the capital city of the State of Montana and has increased in population by about 5,000 residents in the past decade. The surrounding catchment area is estimated to have a population of almost 80,000.
Cities serving a population of this size often support three urgent care centers, so it is no surprise that the citizens of Helena rapidly supported this, their third urgent care center. Within three weeks, the clinic had already served over 20 patients in a single day.
Dr. Ibsen summarized the vision for Urgent Care Plus, “The healing begins when you walk through the door. We provide acute care with speed, compassion and thoroughness. We welcome new patients and old friends to our practice. Our team is pulling for you!”
All Practice Velocity software systems have been designed by urgent care professionals, in urgent centers for urgent care physicians. The people responsible for designing Practice Velocity software systems have a combined 100+ years of experience in urgent care centers. More urgent care centers use Practice Velocity systems for charting and coding any other system.
Interested urgent care professionals should call Dana Flores at 815-544-7480 or email to schedule an urgent care EMR web demo.
