Enable America to Hold a "Tweet-Up" at Annual Disability Forum
“As we reach out to engage more people with disabilities, social media channels serve a crucial role in Enable America’s mission,” said Steve LaBour, Executive Director of Enable America. “We’re honored that Assistant Secretary Martinez is joining us, and pleased that we’ll be able to broadcast her message beyond the four walls of the event.”
Tampa, FL, January 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In an effort to broaden the reach of its annual 2010 Disability Employment Forum being held on Wednesday, February 3 in Tampa, Enable America will provide live streaming of the event on its website, and hold a live “tweet-up” on Twitter during the event. The social media outreach will allow people with disabilities, businesses, and social service organizations all across the country to access the live message from the event’s keynote speaker, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor Kathleen Martinez.
A “tweet-up” is an organized event on Twitter in which multiple attendees at the event can instantly post their comments on a specially designated Twitter page. It is a real world meeting between Twitter users who may share common interests and wish to gather in a public social setting. Those who are unable to attend the forum can view the event online and are invited to participate in the “tweet-up” as well, and are encouraged to sign up in advance and follow Enable America on Twitter.
