First Class Advisors, Inc. Announces Series A Financing
New York, NY, January 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- First Class Advisors, Inc, a high-end admissions consulting firm focused on providing a range of services to aspiring students applying to undergraduate, graduate and professional education programs at colleges and universities, today announced the closing of a Series A financing. Terms were undisclosed. The Oakwood Investment Group led the round as part of an investor syndicate. The company will use the funds to expand their operations into select international markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America, complementing their current focus on the Northeastern United States and the Western United States.
Oakwood Investment Group acquired the predecessor firm to First Class Advisors in February 2008 and restructured the business with several new hires and seed financing. First Class Advisors provides counseling services and admissions application guidance to students aspiring admission to undergraduate, law, MBA, medical and graduate school. “Traditionally about 75% of the client base for the firm comes from the US and Canadian markets, but a clear trend has been evident with students from abroad, especially the Far East, India and Europe, applying to a host of degree programs in the United States,” said Joseph Cox of the Oakwood Investment Group. “First Class Advisors’ services clearly aid students in differentiating themselves in front of admissions committees. They are the high-end in this new and rapidly growing field.”
In connection with the Series A financing, Joseph Cox of the Oakwood Investment Group joined First Class Advisors’ Board of Directors.
